Sur moi

Welcome to my photography website! I'm thrilled to have you here and share my passion for capturing moments through the lens.

Photography has always been an integral part of my life. From the early days when my mom would snap pictures of my brother and I, to the moment I crafted my first pinhole cardboard box film camera in seventh grade—a pinhole camera is a simple camera without a lens, using a tiny aperture to project an image onto film or a digital sensor—I've been drawn to freezing time, immortalizing emotions, and telling stories through images since than.

Behind the lens, it feels surreal—a slow-motion journey through memories filled with joy and happiness.

I have found inspiration from many photographers around the world, but there're a few that have helped me incredibly. My mother has been my guiding light in this journey, igniting my passion for photography. Alongside our, two close friends, Michael and Andrea, both talented photographers themselves, have played pivotal roles in shaping my approach to the art form. Thank you, Mom, Michael, and Andrea, for your endless support and inspiration.

While my favorite subject to photograph is undoubtedly animals, there's something truly captivating about capturing the breathtaking beauty of a sunrise or sunset against a magnificent landscape.

One of my most memorable photography adventures happened during a hike in the heart of Grand Teton Park with my father. As we traversed through a marshy woodland biome, my attention was caught by a curious grouse, leading me deeper into the woods. Suddenly, my dad's hushed voice broke the silence—wolf. I looked up, and there it was, a wolf, mere yards away, its golden eyes locking with mine in a moment of pure, raw connection. It was a split second that felt like an eternity, a silent understanding between predator and observer. And just as quickly as it appeared, the wolf trotted away, leaving me in awe of the natural world and the stories it holds.

My images tell stories worth thousands of words, capturing the raw emotion in every detail.

As for my favorite shooting locations, while Grand Teton/Yellowstone area holds a special place in my heart, the desert southwest of Utah never fails to fascinate me with its unique beauty and rugged landscapes.

Thank you for joining me on this visual journey. I invite you to explore my galleries, browse my portfolio, and get in touch if you have any questions or if you'd like to collaborate on a project. Let's embark on an adventure together and capture the extraordinary beauty that surrounds us.

Warm regards,
Sidney Poly
